Graduate Degree Requirements

revision September 1, 2017

Foreword

The purpose of this manual is to provide information to graduate students who are considering enrolling or have enrolled in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering so that they may better plan their studies and research during their stay at this university. As such, it is intended to supplement information found in The University of Utah General Catalog. In addition to the Departmental requirements listed in this manual, all the University requirements specified in the Graduate Information section of the General Catalog must be satisfied. Therefore, the student should become familiar with both the Departmental and University requirements as soon after they start graduate work as possible. The University of Utah General Catalog contains additional useful information on areas outside the scope of the department, e.g., campus facilities and student housing.

Disclaimer

In the event there is a conflict between Department policy and University policy, the University policy shall take precedence. In the event of a discrepancy between the printed version of the Graduate Manual and the online version, the printed version shall take precedence.
