Job Description

Metallurgical Engineers will be responsible for research to recover minerals and metals from ores.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical research under supervision in the design, development or production of minerals and metals from ore by flotation, smelting, electrolysis, cyanide leach or other processes.
• Keep abreast of new developments and techniques in the metallurgical engineering field.
• Conduct environmental and safety inspections.
• Using prescribed methods, perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment which require the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures in support of a mining operation.
• Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
• Review data and prepare recommendations, summaries and cost estimates for consideration by senior engineers or managers.
• Assist senior engineers as directed, while developing specialized engineering skills.

Positions open near Elko and Winnemucca, Nevada

Degree

BS Degree Required, Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering

Experience

No previous experience in a specialty area is necessary.
