Graduate Program - Miscellaneous Information

HOUSING

Most students live off-campus. The university does not provide listings or assistance in finding off-campus housing. The International Center offers advice on looking for housing and links to the local newspapers' classified ads.

On-campus housing for singles, legally married couples, or single parents with children may be available.

TRANSPORTATION

All University students receive a pass good for local buses and lightrail.

Information on getting a driver's license in Utah is available at the Division of Motor Vehicles, 380 West 2880 South, Salt Lake City; ph 801-297-7780.

Salt Lake's street-numbering system is somewhat unusual, but makes it very easy to find new locations once you know how it works.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

In addition to the sports, recreation, entertainment, and volunteer opportunities available on campus, Salt Lake City and the state of Utah offer a wide range of entertainment and culture such as Ballet West, the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir; Hogle Zoo, Tracy Aviary, and an aquarium; professional sports such as Real Salt Lake and the Utah Jazz; nearby outdoor recreation like hiking, skiing and mountain biking; and travel, including five national parks and dozens of state parks.
